The Association of Homeless Advocates in the North/Northwest District (A.H.A.N.D.) – AHAND is the northern council of the Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County, the coordinating entity for homeless housing and services in suburban Cook County. Our more than thirty member agencies work closely with HUD, the Illinois Department of Human Services, as well as with other government agencies to assure funding for the many services which they provide.

Homeless Support
Homeless liaisons and school district liaisons work directly with families to make sure that homeless children and unaccompanied youth have materials needed to complete school assignments, access to meals, and ensure their safety and stability. They also work to identify and locate specific services or connections with other agencies.
