Continued Technology Enhancements in District 23
The use of technology tools to enhance teaching and learning has been an ongoing goal for our District. Our Tech Plan 2.0 explains the vision and process we have followed the past three years. This year, we have entered Phase 3 of the plan which provides for Kindergarten through third grade with one iPad for every two students to use at school, and we are continuing with the 1:1 iPad initiative for all students in grades 4-8.

As part of the plan, teachers have access to Technology Integration Specialists (TIS) who provide embedded and differentiated professional development and ongoing support which research says it has the most impact on the change in the classroom. Additionally, we continue to integrate collaborative applications such Google’s "G. Suite" of apps such as Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms. Along with learning management solutions throughout the district such as SeeSaw, Google Classroom and Schoology.

We believe these tools the improve the quality of teaching and learning, provide all students access to technology, enhance differentiation of instruction, and overall improve the student’s ability to become self-directed learners.

Watch for upcoming training/support sessions for parents!
