PBIS at Home

PBIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools in a positive way. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students. PBIS includes school-wide procedures and expectations for all students and all staff in all settings. You will find the IKE Path expectations matrix below.

The three rules which we enforce here at school (Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe) can also be applied to many other situations.

Talk to your child about those expectations at home. Here are some examples.

BE RESPECTFUL

Do what you are told, the first time.

Listen before you speak - seek to understand.

Share with your siblings.

BE RESPONSIBLE

Do your homework.

Get your backpack ready the night before school.

Clean up after yourself.

BE SAFE

Keep your room and other rooms in your house clean (so you don’t trip on your toys).

Walk when you are inside.

Use furniture at home in an expected way.

Please review the information contained on this page with your child. It would be best if you found time to review it at least once a month.

Ask for an example of each way they can demonstrate each rule in school and at home. Enjoy!

Thank you!
