District 23 Facilities and Program Planning

In December, the Board of Education directed Administration to coordinate an investigation into the facility and program needs associated with our Strategic Plan. Over the past 6 months, we have selected consultants whose expertise will guide a thoughtful and transparent process, including student, staff, parent, and other community members' voice and input. 

After an initial review and a series of discussions, the first DRAFT proposal of Facility and Program needs was presented to the Board on May 11, 2022. This presentation, which can be found by clicking THIS LINK, highlighted four areas of need: Early Learning Program Enhancements, Facility Maintenance, Safety and Security, and Community Connections. Next steps for this process will include the creation of a Citizens' Task Force and Public Opinion surveys to determine the level of community support for these needs and support for a potential referendum in April 2023.
