Powerteacher icon How to Get the Most Out of PowerTeacher

This page is meant to be a reference for all the useful functions inside PowerTeacher. "The Left Navigation Menu", and "The Class Navigation Menus" are the two main ways of getting around the PowerTeacher site.

A few important notes:
- The icon above is a tiny script designed to make life a bit easier. All it does is open Safari right to the PowerTeacher website. However it is not required since you can type in the PowerTeacher address (powerschool.d23.org/teachers) in any browser to access the site.
- In case you are lost with all the new terminology:
PowerSchool is the name of our entire student information system (SIS).
PowerTeacher is the web site teachers use to interface with PowerSchool.
Gradebook is a grading program which stores grades in PowerSchool.
The Left Navigation Menu
This is the left navigation menu of PowerTeacher. Click on a button to see an explanation and tips for each of the different sections. The start page button always brings you back to the first page in the PowerTeacher site, and does not require further explanation.  The Meals section is currently not being used in the district, and therefore is not explained.
The Class Navigation Menus
Below is the icon set you will see in the center of the first screen in PowerTeacher.  I call it the class navigation menu because there is one set per class you have.  In the elementary schools there will only be one set because students have the same teacher for most subjects.  Click on the icons in the menu to view an explanation of it's function. Our district is not using the lunch portion of PowerSchool so the knife/fork icon is not explained.
