Kyle Reichelderfer, Class of 2006

Kyle earned two letters each in football, basketball and baseball. He was first-team All-Mid-State League Buckeye Division and first-team All-Southeast District in football in 2005. Kyle was also first-team all-MSL-Buckeye and second-team all-district in basketball during 2006. He was also special mention All-Ohio in football in 2005 and honorable mention in basketball in 2006. Kyle was also second-team all-MSL-Buckeye in baseball in 2005.


He set four high school records in football — passing touchdowns in one game, in a season (now second), passing yards in a season (now third) and all-purpose touchdowns (now third). Kyle is also sixth all-time with 448 points scored in basketball during his senior season. The Braves won a Southeast District championship in basketball during Kyle’s senior season.


Kyle played football at Ohio Dominican University for four years, where he was an Academic All-American twice, and he graduated in 2010 with a B.S. in business. He is currently working for Crop Production Services in Circleville, helping out on the family farm and is also a member of the Logan Elm football coaching staff. Kyle recently married Dakota VanSickle and is the the son of Jeff and Mary Beth Reichelderfer.



Daniel Gifford, Class of 2007


Daniel earned four letter search in cross country, wrestling and track.


He was a four-time first-team All-Mid-State League Buckeye Division and All-Southeast District wrestler. Daniel was the outstanding Pickaway County wrestler in 2007. He was a state alternate in 2006-07 and qualified for the state meet in 2004-05.


Daniel holds school records for most takedowns in a season, career wins, most wins for a freshman and junior, best record as a freshman in wrestling and also helped his 3200 track relay team to a school record.


In cross country, Daniel was first-team All-MSL-Buckeye in 2006 and honorable mention in 2005. He was a three-time regional qualifier. He also qualified for the state cross country meet in 2004-05 and 2005-06.


Daniel was first-team All-MSL-Buckeye in 2007 in track and honorable mention in 2006. He qualified for the state track meet in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

He is the only athlete to qualify for state in three sports in the same school year.


Daniel graduated magna cum laude in 2011 from Heidelberg College with a B.S. in Computer Science and Technology. He is currently working at Nationwide Insurance. Daniel is the son of Craig and Patty Gifford.



Coach Barry DeLong


Coach DeLong was a valuable asset to Logan Elm and the Mid-State League in volleyball, basketball and softball. He coached volleyball for 14 years, basketball for three and softball for six. Coach DeLong was inducted into the MSL Hall of Fame in 2007. He spent 33 years in the Logan Elm School Community.


In volleyball, Coach DeLong led the Braves to a 208-89 mark and won a MSL title and a sectional title. He coached two MSL players of the year and 38 first and second team all-league players.


He coached the Braves to a 35-90 record in basketball.


In softball, he posted a 69-26 record and led the Braves to a MSL title and two district runner-up finishes. He coached a league player of the year and 22 first and second team players.


Currently, Coach DeLong is teaching Driver Training for AAA Auto Club Driving Schools and is pursuing his own commercial school. He is also a substitute teacher in the Logan-Hocking School District and in Fairfield County. He has been married to his wife Debbie, a medical transcriptionist, for 24 years. They are the proud parents of Erin, a senior at Mount Vernon Nazarene, who is majoring in marketing with a minor in public relations and Evan, a junior at Logan who plays football, basketball and runs track. Coach DeLong is the son of Bob and Ruth DeLong.



Diane (Moss) Maxson, Award of Merit


Diane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Helen Moss, Sr. She is a 1977 graduate of Logan Elm High School and on December 30, 1978 married high school sweetheart Eric Maxson, her husband of 34 years. In April, 1980, she returned to her alma mater as the Superintendent’s Secretary and retired after 31 years on September 1, 2011. She served eight superintendents and many board members in this position, which included district office receptionist, EMIS coordinator, special education secretary, transportation coordinator secretary as well as Assistant Superintendent’s secretary. Diane received the Ohio School Boards Association Exemplary School Employee Award in 2007.


She has been involved in a number of functions with Logan Elm, including volunteering for several school levies, being part of the athletic boosters, member of the education foundation and co-chairman of the Logan Elm Annual Alumni Reunion in 2011 and 2012. She has also been involved in the Laurelville Elementary PTO
