It is very important for us to be able to account for the whereabouts of each of our students after school. Any time your child will be staying after school or going home from school in a way that is different than the usual arrangement, you must send a note to your child's teacher. All notes are then sent to the office so that, in case of an emergency, the information about where the children are can be quickly accessed.

If you know ahead of time that your child's after school plans will be changed, it is important that you send a note with your child in the morning instead of bringing a note to the office later in the day or calling. The school office gets busy during the day, especially close to dismissal time, making it difficult to contact teachers and get messages to them. Also, getting messages to a teacher can cause a disruption to the classroom. Arrangements for after school need to be made by 9:00 a.m. Children will not be allowed to make phone calls in order to change their usual going home plans after this time. If a note has not been sent in the morning, the school office needs to have enough time to locate you, have you call back with the arrangements, and notify the teacher. Occasionally, everyone's plans change last minute. When this happens, please call the office and we will make the arrangements.

The office receives an average of 40 to 50 notes each day about children staying after school or changing plans about how they go home. In order to help us facilitate this process, please do the following when sending a note about your child staying after school:

- Send a note for each activity.

- Date your note.

- Use your child's full name on the note.

- Tell what activity your child is staying for & how he/she will be going home.

- Sign the note using your full name.

- Please put your child's name and teacher on the sheet.
