Student Senate News
December 2008
Don't miss out on a chance to send someone you care about a Candy-gram!
On December 4th and 5th, students will have an opportunity to purchase Candy-grams for just $.50 each. The Ike Student Senate will sell Candy-grams during lunch and deliver them to classrooms on Wednesday, the 10th. Candy-grams are so much fun to send to friends, family members, and other special people in your child's life. Hey parents, you can send Candy-grams too. Just send a note to Mrs. Saunders, along with the student's name, teacher, and how you would like the card to be signed. Be sure to include your payment. Proceeds from the Candy-gram sales will help to raise money to purchase a wheelchair lift for Mike Cardi and his family.
The Student Senate is asking students and teachers to make holiday cards for the soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital. We plan to send a box full of holiday wishes to our soldiers. If you would like to send cards from home, we will happily include those too.
During the month of December, Student Senate will also be sponsoring a Food Drive to help those in need. We set our goal at 600 food items. Please help us reach our goal by sending non-perishable items to school. If every family could send in just two items, we can easily reach our goal and keep many from going hungry this holiday season.
The Student Senate thanks you and your continued support and wishes you and your families a wonderful and very happy holiday season.
Warmly,
The Eisenhower Student Senate

If you collect money for UNICEF, please return the boxes to school by November 2.

Thank you for your continued support.

May 2006The Student Senate has had a very successful year, thanks to all of you. We have been able to raise over $800 to benefit Katrina victims and UNICEF. This was done through sales at the Open House Bake Sale, Candy-Grams and The Smile Sale. Trick and Treating for UNICEF raised over $300.00 alone! We were also able to raise over $1200.00 for the Morganthaler family who lost their home this past year. Also, we provided dinner to one of our families who lost their father this spring.
Our Eisenhower Student Senate has made a difference in many lives this year. Our Eisenhower families have done so, also. Thank you for your continued support. Thank you for caring about others. Have a wonderful summer break.
Our very best,
Mrs. Chartouni and Mrs. Saunders

April 2006
The students "rocked" at our first Dance-a-Thon on Friday, April 21. Ken Murphy, of AMP D.J. Services and a former Ike student, volunteered his D.J. services to delight all the participants at the evening's event. Everyone had a great time and danced the night away. Mrs. Morganthaler and her daughter, Aleena, also stopped by to participate in an evening of fun and good will.
We thank all of the wonderful students and families who unselfishly contributed to the Morganthaler fund. We are very excited and pleased to announce that we raised $1,258.37. WOW!! Thank you all for a fantastic and very successful fund raiser.
Of course, we couldn't have carried this off without the assistance of our chaperons, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Prazuch. The outstanding talent of our D.J., Ken Murphy, made the evening absolutely amazing. Think about what he could do for one of your events. Thank you ALL for an extraordinary event and your generosity. Please be sure to take a look at the pictures from the Dance-a-Thon on page four of "The Roost."
