The Roost

The "Eagle's Roost" is a monthly newsletter and is the primary means for the school office to be in touch with you concerning the day-to-day happenings and procedures at school. "The Eagle's Roost" will also include parenting information gleaned from various sources and reprinted or summarized for your consideration.

Be sure to use the P.T.O. Calendar, provided by the P.T.O. for its members, or to refer to the back of your District 23 Parent/Student Handbook for school holidays, vacations, Institute Days - days when school is closed. In an effort to save paper, reminder notices of these school closures will appear in "The Roost", but will not be sent home as special notices just prior to the days off.

The P.T.O. publishes "The Eagle" to communicate P.T.O. related information to your homes. Please watch for both publications to come with your youngest Eisenhower child on a monthly basis. "The Roost" will continue to be printed on yellow paper for your easy identification.

As an incentive to encourage you to read "The Roost", a drawing for a special pencil is held each month for those children whose parent or guardian has read the newsletter and sent in a completed contest coupon. There are several coupons printed in each issue in order to accommodate those families having more than one student in our school. Completed coupons should be place in the special box located on the table in the hall just outside of the school office.

Thank you for taking the time to read "The Roost." Following are the most recent winners of the "I Read The Roost" contest:

Will A.
Michael H.
Eric E.
Eliza L.
Mike E.
Emmy M.
Chas G.
Hunter M.
Nicole G.
Sean W.

To qualify your child for the contest, simply fill out a coupon and ask your child to place it in the "Roost" drawing box in the school entrance hall.

We want to thank each parent who takes the time to read our monthly newsletter. It is our main communication about school procedures, events (including days off), and general parenting tips which may be of interest or help to you. We have found that parents who regularly read "The Eisenhower Eagle's Roost" can plan ahead, and they do not have to call school to find out about special events and days off.

If you have a neighbor who does not have children in our school, you might consider occasionally giving them newsletters that you no longer need. As taxpayers to our school district, they may appreciate this view of how their tax dollars are being spent.
