Presentation
Information

By now you've done some research.  You and your partner should each have at least one or two pages of typewritten information about your famous African-American, highlighting different topics of that person's life, complete with one or two small pictures in your report.  This you will need to hand in when your teacher asks for it. Now for the fun stuff....

After you have compiled all of the really important facts about your famous African-American, you and your partner need to work together to come up with an INTERESTING presentation for the class.  NO ONE  WANTS TO HEAR YOU READ YOUR PAGE!  That would be boring, right?

Don't do this!

You can pick from one of the following presentation methods:

1.  Stage an interview.  One team member should take on the role of the interviewer (Barbara Walters, perhaps?), and the other should become the famous person you chose to write about.  Dress the part, and rehearse an interview, making sure you cover the important facts, but add some personality into it too!

2. Create an acrostic poem or rap song.  Have fun, be creative, but make sure you get all of the important facts about your famous person into your song or poem.  Have props or pictures available as you speak or sing.

3. Make a visual presentation. You and your partner will need to create a visual presentation to the class, complete with sounds and pictures.  Perhaps your school has PowerPoint or HyperStudio, or some other type of multi-media program. Cover all the important facts, and have fun creating it!  It should probably have a minimum of 7 cards or slides, but use your best judgment.

4. Dramatize a short play. You and your partner need to write and act out a short play dramatizing several of the important events that helped make your person famous.  You can use a combination of narrating the early years, and acting out some of the famous "moments in time".  Wear costumes, rehearse your lines, and be sure to have fun!

Get started right away because your teacher will give you your presentation date - and it will be coming up soon!

LAST STEP

Neatly create 5 game cards with trivia questions and answers to add to the class Black History Trivia Game.  These will be graded on neatness and relevance to your famous African-American!
